February 21 - At Sea
Today was busy with all the usual - coffee, breakfast, lectures, reading, trivia (came in 3rd with 10/15), etc.
I haven't heard back from the insurance company about a dermatologist appointment in Sydney, so I just called a doctor found online. Besides other logistical problems like it being a weekend, turns out that typically the first appointment would only be for a consultation and, if a biopsy is warranted, that would be a later appt. That obviously doesn't work, so we decided to look ahead. With our new changed schedule, we have 2 days in Adelaide so I called around to doctors there and got an appointment. For the basic info on the phone she asked me what my background was. I'm thinking "I'm retired but used to work in HR" but figured that wasn't relevant so I said "I'm sorry, I'm American and I'm not sure what you mean by my background". She says, "You're American and your family is all American?" Ahh, of course, she meant my ethnicity. Doh. Of course, "American" doesn't really tell her much, but I figure it will all be obvious when I arrive.
There was a fun Beatles party last night before dinner. We were sitting with Leona, Steve and new friends Sheila and Chris. At one point for a slow song I dragged Michael onto the dance floor. When we got back, Chris says to Michael "Thanks for taking one for the team, Mikc." I even joined the Conga Line for Life Goes On. Fun. Then we all went off to dinner and even made it to the show tonight - a fabulous Australian classical guitar player named Tom Ward. Jan wasn't feeling 100% so they ordered room service.
They've decided to get off in Syndey - sniff. Darn coronavirus - excuse me, I mean Covid-19. I imagine a fair number of passengers will do that and many who were scheduled to get on in Singapore will cancel.
